The Art House is at 178 Above Bar Street, SO14 7DW.
Food will be at normal menu prices (between £3.75 and £6.95)

Friday 9th September - Green Film: Home
home-moveStarting at 8:30pm at The Art House, we are screening Home, a 2009 documentary by Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

The film is almost entirely composed of aerial shots of various places on Earth. It shows the diversity of life on Earth and how humanity is threatening the ecological balance of the planet. The documentary chronicles the present day state of the Earth, its climate and how we as the dominant species have long-term repercussions on its future.

A theme expressed throughout the documentary is that of linkage—how all organisms and the Earth are linked in a "delicate but crucial" natural balance with each other, and how no organism can be self-sufficient.
The Art House is at 178 Above Bar Street, SO14 7DW.
Film is by Magic Hat (by donation; so please give generously!)

Sunday 11th September - Harvestival!
harvestivalFrom 12-4pm, come and join Transition Southampton members (and their friends and families) at a homegrown picnic.

Saturdays 17th and 24th September - Scrumping!
Times TBC, likely to be an 11am start on the 17th.
Led by the Urbane Forager (website here: http://urbaneforager.btck.co.uk/ with a map of local fruit) we'll be having a wander to pick several kilos of apples and then press them for making cider. Take along some bags, and save some plastic milk containers with lids for any juice produced. This will be a fantastic event and the start of more foraged food events around Southampton.
E-mail alan@wingchun.org.uk if you are interested in coming along in order to be kept up to dates with times and locations from the Urbane Forager himself.

Wednesday 28th September- Homegrown Food Swap
from 7:30pm at the Art House.
TS_-_Eat_Local_illustration
Last year we had a great local food evening at October Books to celebrate the fact that they started selling local chutneys, jams, apple juice, and oil. We're hoping to have a similar evening at the Art House.
Take along your courgette gluts, herbs, tomatoes, homemade chutney, chicken eggs or anything else.  If you go along to a scrumping session but find yourself with an excess of apples, swap or share them with someone else!
Teas, coffee, ales, wine and cake available for sale from the Art House. Donations to the Art House (and to Transition Southampton) greatly appreciated.
The Art House is at 178 Above Bar Street, SO14 7DW.
