Lymington Positive Living Group

Lymington Positive Living Group is a new group, open to everyone interested in personal development, spiritual growth and creating global harmony. We meet in the community centre every Tuesday evening from 6th September 2011, doors open 7.15pm, start 7.45pm- finish 10pm.

There will be guest speakers and occasionally a practical workshop to share inspiration and incentives that may lead you to live a healthier, more vibrant life, and perhaps even finding your bliss. It will also be a great opportunity for you to meet like-minded people, make friends and have a social get together. In essence it is the uniting of people who hold possible answers with those who have questions. Another aim of the group is to promote community living so wherever possible a local person will be the guest speaker.

Come and join us each week for an evening of enlightenment!

A visit to the community-run farm that Eastleigh Transition Network have been running for about a year now. Members agree to give at least 10 hours a month and get a share of the produce.
We have a fantastic opportunity to have a wander round the farm, see how it works, and even see their new piglets.
If you are interested, please e-mail Polly at treemendous@transitionsouthampton.org by Wednesday. We are hoping to set up a lift share. We can also organise a cycle journey as well if people are interested.

Eat Local Meal - Friday September 9th
Friday September 9th, doors from 6pm, dinner at 6:30 at the Art House
They had such a great time last time that they decided to do another one! Expect a lovely meal at the Art House full of local seasonal ingredients.  Dishes available will vary based on what they get from Sunnyfields, Riverford and some volunteers' gardens that week.
There are going to be 25 spaces. They were fully booked last time and had to turn a few people away, so make sure you book a place!
Bookings can be made by calling the Art House (023 80 238 582) or online through Eventbrite (link should be on their website soon and on our events calendar)

Green Friday Film - Just Do It - Friday September 9th

Harvestival - Sunday September 11th
Sunday September 11th from 12-4pm at Southampton Little Common (near Highfield Lane and Highfield Road)
This is a gathering of Transition Southampton folks (and their friends and families) to have a picnic full of homegrown food and foraged fruit. Bring food for yourself and something to share if you'd like.
Come along for a great chance to socialise with other Transition Southampton folks, and bring along friends and family that you think might want to be involved in Transition.

Scrumping! - Saturdays 17th and 24th September
Saturdays 17th and 24th September - times TBC.
Led by the Urbane Forager (website here: http://urbaneforager.btck.co.uk/ with a map of local fruit) we'll be having a wander to pick several kilos of apples and then press them for making cider. Bring along some bags, and save some plastic milk containers with lids for any juice produced. This will be a fantastic event and the start of more foraged food events around Southampton.
E-mail alan@wingchun.org.uk in order to be kept up to dates with times and locations from the Urbane Forager himself.

Grass is Greener - Saturday 17th September
Saturday 17th September, mid-day til evening on the site of the old Tyrrell and Green building.
A fantastic event in the "cultural quarter" of Southampton. Across from the new Guildhall Square on the grass (which is greener, of course!) will be a solar powered cinema and a bike powered concert! With short environmental films being screened on the side of a building and Seize the Day (http://www.seizetheday.org/gigArchive.cfm) playing a set, it should be fantastic.
Look out for more details (like more specific times!) nearer the time, but definitely save the date!

Homegrown Fruit and Veg Swap - Wednesday 28th September
Wednesday 28th September, 7:30pm at the Art House.
Last year we had a great local food evening at October Books to celebrate the fact that they started selling local chutneys, jams, apple juice, and oil. We're hoping to have a similar evening at the Art House.
Bring along your courgette gluts, herbs, tomatoes, homemade chutney, chicken eggs or anything else. Entry by magic hat (by donation)
